This profile takes battery life and thermal issues into account.ĭigital Audio Workstation: A digital audio workstation (DAW) is a computer designed for recording and editing of digital audio. This is similar to best of all worlds profile, with one major difference. Notebook | Netbook: best for laptop devices including Notebook and Netbooks. This profile consists of less aggresive tweaking, but still provides a major speed up for your computer. The grace period, fault tolerance and waitstates to handle badly written software will be increased. Maximum Stability: intended for computers that use old computer programs with stability issues. There is no long-term experience on some of these tweaks, so the profile is the first choice for users who like to experiment. Maximum Performance: this profile takes the best of all worlds profile as a base and adds some experimental tweaks that can provide additional computer speed up. Thousands of computers and user reports have been analyzed to create a profile without any side effects that will provide a major speed up for every PC. Over 15 years of Windows optimization experience went into this profile. This will work well only with application that do not make full use of all 16 cpu cores, particularly computer games.īasic profile: designed to get a basic 'feeling' how Cacheman optimization works.īest of all worlds: the best choice for the majority of Desktop computers. Switching program threads from one CCX group to another can cause performance degradation on an otherwise very fast CPU.ĭuring our tests in the Outertech lab we have discovered that tying some Windows applications to the first CCX group (4 physical + 4 virtual cores) can increase the performance by a significant factor, as thread switching between two CCX groups is avoided. Windows 10 appears to not be aware that the Ryzen CPU consists of two individual CPU core groups. Communication between cores that sit on two separate CCX groups is significantly slower (by the factor of 2 and more). Within a CCX group CPU cores can communicate very quickly with each other. The speed of the crossbar is linked to the speed of your system memory (RAM). The two groups are interconnected with with a 256-bit wide bi-directional crossbar. The physical cores are placed onm the CPU die in two groups of 4 cores each, the so called CCX (CPU Complex). The AMD Ryzen 7 processors consist of 16 CPU cores - 8 physical and 8 virtual (emulated) cores. In addition to the already build-in Intel Core processor optimization, Cacheman 10.10 updates the optimization profiles for AMD Ryzen 7 1700, 1700X, 1800X and Ryzen 5 1400, 1500X, 1600, 1600X processors.

Upon joining the server, if you're not already subscribed to or have the addons you're forcing the player to download you should see yourself downloading workshop addonsĪnd then for those of you who sound more like option 2, I would recommend watching the tutorial linked below that will show you had to create a resources file for custom content. Once done, save the file and then restart your server. In this new file you need to create the following for each addon ID resource.AddWorkshop('IDHERE') so for example resource.AddWorkshop('391383735') - You need to do this for each addon ID, one per line. You now need that list of addon ID's for this next step. Once you've got your list of addon ID's you want to go to the file manager in the control panel and navigate to garrysmod -> lua -> autorun -> serverĬlick create new file, and title the file a For example - At the end of the URL you can see the ID which in this case is 391383735 If you're in Steam looking at an addon on the workshop right click on the page and select copy page URL, and then paste it into a browser. If you are option 1, and you would like to force players to download certain workshop addons when connecting to your server you need to do the following:-Ĭreate a list of all the ID's of the addons you want your players to download. None of my addons / custom content are from the workshop, and I've separated the content (models/materials/sounds) from my addons into separate models, materials and sounds folders within the Garrys Mod folder. I don't use any custom models or materials that I've uploaded into new models and materials folders within the garrysmod folder. All of my addons / custom models and materials that I use on my server are from the workshop. You need to establish which one of the following options you are:. However, FastDL has been rendered fairly useless in the past year by the introduction of workshop that most people are now using for their custom addons, maps and content packs Setting up FastDL on our Garrys Mod servers is easy to do and can be as simple as running the fast downloads sync in the control panel, and then removing the // from the beginning of the sv_downloadurl line in the server.cfg file. Within Source based games such as Garrys Mod, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike and so on there is something called fast downloads / FastDL.įastDL was introduced into source games to give server owners a faster way to deliver custom content to their players which would mean they were not limited to the 30Kb/s download rate that Source is limited to.
